Annetje is a super quick knit, inspired by canal houses in Amsterdam. It’s knit bottom up, with all the fun colorwork as a reward at the top. Worsted weight.
An experienced knitter can make this sweater over a weekend. I designed it for my daughter who was traveling to the Netherlands for the first time without our family. I was discouraged because I didn’t quite finish it on time. But I was driving her and her husband to the airport when it dawned on me that she could finish it herself. I texted her instructions and she finished it on the plane. She wore this sweater in Amsterdam.
Knit with Quince Lark (perfect for a summer sweater, because it’s soft and can be worn with only a t-shirt for chilly mornings or evenings). Rauma Strikkegarn is a great choice for a winter version.
