Dala Horse Hat Pattern

Dala Horse Hat Pattern

Regular price $6.00 Sale

During Christmas knitting season 2019, I knit for my family what would become a mini Christmas collection. It included a couple of hats and other accessories. I started with 1 -100 g skein of Quince and Co Osprey in Poppy, 1-50g skein of Brooklyn Tweed in Iceberg, and 1-50 g skein of Quince and Co Owl in Snowy. I used the yarn left over from the Dala Horse Hat in other projects, and released the patterns individually and as a collection. My goal was to use up all (or most) of each skein.

This hat was the first pattern released in the Christmas 2019 Collection. It makes a great first colorwork project. If you are new to colorwork, knit the hat in two colors and then add the third color with a duplicate stitch.

The hat works up super quickly, and the Dala horses make me smile. I found the Faux Fur pompom at Barrett Wool Co.

One size only with two lengths options, the longer hat is for a slouchier fit. The grey sample is the shorter hat and the red hat is the taller version. This hat average adult head 22-24 inches . You may alter needle size to make a slightly larger or smaller hat.
